British Military Bases to House Asylum Seekers in Initiative to Terminate Hotel-Based Usage
Several hundred refugee applicants may be housed in military barracks as the administration seeks to end the utilization of hotels.
Talks are underway regarding the conversion of two facilities - one in northern Britain and a second in the south of England - for shelter for nine hundred males.
The PM has directed Domestic Affairs and Military Ministry officials to accelerate initiatives to locate proper military sites.
The ruling party has pledged to terminate the use of asylum hotels, which have required substantial taxpayer money and emerged as a focal point for anti-migrant protests.
Under Consideration Defense Facilities
Migrants might be placed in the Cameron military facility in Highland region and Crowborough military training facility in southeastern England by the conclusion of the coming month.
Industrial sites, short-term shelter and otherwise disused accommodation are also being reviewed for potential use.
Government Commitments
Government sources stated that all sites would meet wellbeing requirements.
"Our administration is furious at the extent of unauthorized immigrants and temporary hotel accommodations."
"Our administration will terminate all refugee hotels. Efforts are progressing effectively, with additional appropriate locations being brought forward to alleviate strain on communities and reduce migrant housing expenditures."
Present Shelter Statistics
Approximately 32,000 individuals seeking protection are at this time being sheltered in hotels, representing a decrease from a maximum of over 56,000 in the previous year.
A recent report found that multiple billions of taxpayers' money had been "squandered" on asylum accommodation.
Earlier Military Site Utilization
Two former military sites - former RAF base in the eastern county and the Napier facility in the southern county - are already being used to house refugee applicants after being opened under the prior administration.
The Prime Minister commented on the situation, stating: "I am determined to shut down all asylum hotels. I can't tell you how troubled and alarmed the administration feels that we face a challenge as big as this by the former leadership."
